Each donation made to them feeds school going children who deserve a delicious and nourishing experience.
The initiative of Madhu Pandit Dasa and his team is making headlines around the globe. With its free mid-day meal scheme, the Akshaya Patra Foundation is inspiring millions across the world to think about government school-going children who have limited resources. The meal provided to the children is Sattvik in nature and it keeps them active.
The Hyderabad based organization – Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MiDhaNi) followed the example of many other humanitarians and donated a whopping sum of Rs 55 lakh to Akshaya Patra. Out of this, Rs 40 lakh will be earmarked to feed 4,000 school children with mid-day meal scheme. The remaining Rs 15 lakh will be used to arrange food distribution vehicles for the logistics.
The MiDhaNi corporate office organized a spectacular ceremony on Friday to inaugurate a food distribution vehicle that will carry savoury Akshaya Patra food to more than 5,000 children every day.
Dr Dinesh Kumar Likhi, the CMD of MiDhaNi praised Akshaya Patra’s program to end hunger in India. The Akshaya Patra president for Telangana chapter, Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa, was also present at the ceremony.
Akshaya Patra is a world record holder for being the world’s largest NGO that runs free mid-day meal program across a country. They currently provide their services to more than 16 lakh children in 13,557 schools across 11 Indian states. They operate through 25 well-maintained and gigantic kitchens, which are mostly centralized. Akshaya Patra also caters to the need of Anganwadis and various charitable hospitals.
