Unequal distribution of wealth has become the major concerning issue prevailing in the society. It results in the ills like hunger, poverty, malnourishment, child mortality and illiteracy. There are several organizations working for the welfare of backward section of society. Akshaya Patra is one such non-profit organization headquartered in Bengaluru, aiming to eliminate the hunger and poverty. The efforts by the organization make a huge difference in the lives of underprivileged children deprived of the basic amenities. In a short span of time, Akshaya Patra Foundation has established benchmarks in their field and gained considerable success in eliminating hunger and poverty. By 2020 the organization aims at reaching around 5 million children every day.
Akshaya Patra is considered as one of the most effective NGOs and aims that ‘No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger.’ The organization encourages people to make a huge difference in the lives of helpless children through their small efforts. As it is commonly said ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world.’ The noble cause of the organization is effective in ensuring the education of children and hence building a better future. Children are the building blocks of a nation. The future of the nation depends on them. Thus, it becomes important to ensure them good education and health care facilities. The Mid-day meal scheme serves wholesome food to over 1.4 million children from 10,845 schools across 10 states in India and works as a great encouraging factor for promoting education and bringing children to school.
