Shri Lal Mahal Rice

Rice is the staple food of more than half of India’s population. Understandably, there are quite a few rice brands in India that have created their own identity, not only in the country, but globally as well. One such brand is the century-old Shri Lal Mahal. Established way back in 1907, Shri Lal Mahal Rice is one of the major basmati rice exporters of India, having made a huge impact in the markets of Australia, North America, Europe and the Middle East. Prem Garg, the director and owner of Shri Lal Mahal rice brand, has been instrumental in guiding the company to achieve the phenomenal growth.

Streamlining the operations of the company, Garg oversees all the operations by himself, starting from the stage of procurement to the final shipment. He ensures that the company’s objective of offering cost-effective products is met with utmost success. Shri Lal Mahal Group has been a recipient of the “Largest Exporter of Rice” award from APEDA (Ministry of Commerce) for 15 years in a row. The turnover of the company is about $1.5 bn.

Considered one of most trusted brand names, Shri Lal Mahal Rice has offices and associates in various parts of the globe, including Geneva, the UK, USA, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius, Iran, Nigeria and Oman. The company has the facilities that match world class standards followed by the world’s leading rice companies.

The company is famous for mainly two premium brands: Empire Basmati Rice and Fitness Brown Basmati Rice. Empire Basmati Rice is premium extra-long grain with minimal fat, sugar and cholesterol. The length of the rice is 22 mm after cooking, which is the longest in Basmati rice. It is easy to digest and good for health with a uniformity in size of grain and color. On the other hand, Fitness Brown Rice keeps the bones healthy and enhances the immune system. It can be prepared in 12 minutes only.

Shri Lal Mahal Rice is one of the few brands to conduct the pesticide residue test to ensure the safety of the customers. Pesticide residue test is an important tool for the identification and control of residues. The company ensures that it complies with the maximum residue levels (MRLs) set by the law of the country.

Furthermore, many national and international media monitor the price trends of the brand, which influence the price movements in basmati market as a whole. One of the most trusted brand names in rice, Shri Lal Mahal is truly a benchmark for quality.
