Cleanliness of Surroundings is a one of the most vital aspects for a healthy environment. It is crucial for preventing diseases and ensuring a healthy lifestyle of people. Cleanliness of surroundings is as important as the cleanliness of house. As it is well renowned ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness.’ With widespread diseases and deteriorating health conditions, ensuring cleanliness of surroundings and spreading awareness among people is the need of the hour. Having the major concern of spreading awareness about cleanliness practices, Volunteers and members of National NGO picked up the broom to clean the market areas in Tughlakabad Extension. Today was just the start of a journey of change; of a journey of cleaning India with National NGO. More cleanliness drives shall follow in the coming days.
The market areas of Tughlakabad Extension were cleaned by the volunteers and members of the National Organization for Social Empowerment for promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims at accomplishing Gandhi’s vision of a ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October 2019; the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. The mission has garnered positive reviews and is effective in spreading awareness about the need & importance of cleaniness in our surroundings. The National NGO looks forward to other such cleanliness drives to contribute in the journey of cleaning India.
A volunteer of National NGO said cleanliness has become one of the major concerning issues in our country. It is important to spread awareness among people about the need of cleanliness in our surroundings. Ensuring cleanliness in our surroundings is one of our fundamental duties. It directly affects out health and helps in preventing diseases. We strongly support PM Modi’s campaign of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and look forward to bringing a substantial change in the waste disposal systems.
The cleanliness drive involved keeping a check on drainage systems, ensuring appropriate number of dustbins in the area and spreading awareness about the importance of clean surroundings. To promote cleanliness, the National NGO took the challenge and picked up the brooms ourselves to sweep the streets and local market areas in the Tughlakabad area. They divided the areas among them and made sure that all the waste was disposed properly.
A resident of Tughlakabad said that these efforts by volunteers and members of National Organization for Social Empowerment evoked a sense of responsibility among the residents of Tughlakabad in joining hands to support the Clean India Movement. It was much-needed in that area as the plight of the locality was not heeded by the people and the municipal corporation. The drainage systems were ineffective and blocked along with accumulation of piles of waste in our locality.
