Claridges Chairman explains how the hotel proffers a unique blend of the 19th century Britain and the contemporary style to serve its guests the best

In an era that is infested with gadgets, automobile honks, internet and city frenzy, there is nothing like experiencing tranquillity in the lap of nature or vacationing at a place that takes you back to a bygone time of exquisite grandeur and rich heritage. However, with technology being an indispensable part of our lives, some people wish to remain digitally connected regardless of where they are.

Going all out to bring the best of both worlds together, Claridges Delhi offers the splendour of 19th century Britain all the while remaining at par with the contemporary style. “We seek to enhance the experience of our guests through an amalgamation of the Victorian era and today’s tech-savvy world,” said the Claridges Chairman Suresh Nanda when asked about this unconventional blend at the hotel.

From the frills of beds, arched doorways, antique paintings hung on the white walls to the leather and wooden interiors of the rooms with big, plush windows overlooking the garden area, the Claridges Delhi has just given luxury a new definition. “All these frosted with elegant architectural designs and hospitable staff tend to improve the guests’ overall hotel experience,” Suresh Nanda added.

Though the rooms are specifically designed to give off an aesthetic colonial atmosphere, the requisites of a vacationer are not overlooked at, be it the availability of coffee maker, seamless Wifi connection, AC or dry cleaning facility. Surrounded by lush green trees, the hotelier stated that Claridges seeks to provide a temporary natural oasis to the visitors amidst the hustles of the capital city.

Suresh Nanda has been associated with the brand for over a decade and owing to his unique entrepreneurial approach, the chain of hotels has thrived over the years — from a rundown hotel to being one of the biggest luxury chains of hotels in India. Talking about his vision with the hotel, he said, “We constantly work on enhancing our guests’ experience and enable them to luxuriate at an abode offering personalised comfort at an exceptional value.”
