In line with this, NetApp in India has joined hands with with non-profit organizations such as Akshaya Patra Foundation, Parikrma foundation, and Habitat for Humanity, to raise wakefulness for and address the social and environmental issues including education, undernourishment, health and hygiene.
Recently, NetApp India undertook several activities targeting these areas of concerns. In an initiative towards increasing the school attendance through serving nutritious meals, NetApp donated a state-of-the-art food delivery van at Akshaya Patra Kitchens. In addition, to create proper sanitation and hygiene awareness, NetApp sponsored the construction of a toilet unit at the Varthur College in Bangalore, in association with the NGO, Habitat for Humanity.
Integral to how NetApp gives back is an exclusive Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, which authorizes the employees to volunteer up to 40 hours every year—with full pay, during routine business hours—to support the non-profit organizations of their preference, for example Akshaya Patra Kitchens.
