Who’s making it big in this year’s IPL? Presenting, team of the league at halfway stage!

The shift in momentum is evident in Dream11 IPL 2020, with young guns impressing and old horses losing the sheen and looking vulnerable at the halfway stage. Mostly, Indian players are making merry, while some foreigners are also making their presence felt. All the teams have completed half of their fixtures in the league stage. Here is the team of the league at the completion of game 37:

KL Rahul

With more than 500 runs from 10 games at a strike rate of 135 and an average of 75, KL Rahul has made amends for his past performances and there is no question about his greatness anymore. He would certainly open the innings for the IPL team of the league at halfway stage.

Mayank Agarwal

One cannot take his eyes off Mayank Agarwal, who has been more than impressive this season. He has scored 398 runs at an average of 39.8, but it is his strike of whopping 133 which has given Kings XI Punjab a head start in most of the games. He would surely partner Rahul at the top.

Shikhar Dhawan

His runs have often come in a winning cause and Shikhar Dhawan has proven his mettle yet again with 465 runs from 10 matches at a strike rate of 126. He also scored a blistering hundred to take his side home against CSK. So, he is our no.3.

Faf Du Plessis

Coming in at one down for the CSK, Faf Du Plessis has often played the role expected of him and taken CSK into a decent position. Although many of his innings have come in a losing cause, Faf has been one of the very few consistent players in the CSK camp this year. Thus, he occupies no.4 in this side.

Virat Kohli

Barring the first few innings, Kohli has been consistently making an impact on the games he has played so far. Virat Kohli has amassed 347 runs from 9 games with a healthy average of 58 and a strike rate of nearly 128. We would like him to come at no.5 to provide stability to the middle order, if one of Faf or Dhawan has a bad day.

AB de Villiers

He may be coming down in the batting order, but AB will play according to the situation and his number will keep on fluctuating. The Mr 360 degree has made a great impact with a strike rate of 190 and a terrific average of 57.

Rahul Tewatia

Who can forget the name of Rahul Tewatia? He has been in prolific form and has contributed with both bat and ball. Tewatia has scored 222 runs at 44 and a strike rate of 145. He has also taken 7 wickets at an economy rate of 7.38, which is stunning for an all-rounder with the kind of pitches we have had.

Jofra Archer

He would certainly take that no.8 spot with his batting ability coupled with deadly bowling combination. Jofra has taken 13 wickets so far with a meagre economy rate of 6.75, an unbelievable achievement in the modern era.

Rashid Khan

No lineup is complete without Rashid Khan, as the man from Afghanistan keeps shining at the big stage. He has been very impressive, having given runs at 5.52 economy rate and taken wickets at an average of just 18 runs. Rashid has not only taken 11 wickets, but also made some useful runs.

Mohammad Shami

He has taken wickets for fun. Mohammad Shami has been very impressive with his wicket taking ability. 14 wickets from 9 games is excellent in the shortest format of the game in any tournament.

Jasprit Bumrah

With 15 wickets, an average of under 18 and an economy rate of just 7.44, Bumrah will lead the pace attack of this XI. He has been quite lethal throughout the tournament and looks set to finish the tournament as the leading wicket taker, if Kings XI and Rajasthan Royals fail to make it to the playoffs.
